Delete Your Spellrun Account
Spellrun is developed and operated by Zekiserv. This page explains how to request deletion of your Spellrun account, what data is deleted, what is kept, and for how long.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account yourself from inside the game, at any time:
- Open Spellrun and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap your username at the top of the screen to open your profile.
- Select the Account tab.
- Under Account Actions, tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when asked. Your account is deleted immediately and this cannot be undone.
If You Cannot Sign In
If you have lost access to your account and cannot complete the steps above, email us at Loading... with the subject "Spellrun account deletion", and include:
- Your Spellrun username; and
- The email address, Google account, or Discord account you used to sign in.
Please send the request from the email address associated with the account where possible. We may ask for additional information to confirm the account is yours before deleting it — this protects you from someone else deleting your account. We complete verified requests within 30 days.
What Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the following from our servers:
- Your account record — username, email address, password hash, and any Google or Discord sign-in identifiers linked to the account.
- Your progress and ranking — rating (RP), rank, wins, matches played, total words, typos, best WPM, highest streak, average accuracy, and selected cosmetics.
- Your race history — every stored race result, including placement, words per minute, accuracy, streak, words completed, typos, and rating change.
- Your ad-free entitlement record — the subscription tier, status, and expiry stored on your account.
This data is removed from our live database immediately and cannot be recovered.
What Is Kept, and For How Long
- Backup copies — up to 30 days. Routine backups of our database may still contain your data for a short period after deletion. These are overwritten on a rolling basis and are not used to restore deleted accounts.
- Purchase and transaction records — held by the store, not by us. If you bought an ad-free plan, the record of that payment is held by the platform store (such as Google Play) and by our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We do not control those records, and they are retained under those companies' policies and applicable tax and accounting law. To ask about them, contact the store you purchased through.
- Aggregate statistics — retained, but not about you. Counts and averages used to balance the game (for example, how often a spell is cast) do not identify you and are not linked to your account once it is deleted.
- Operational diagnostics — hours, not stored in our database. A small, capped log of recent technical events is held in server memory only, rolls over continuously, and is cleared whenever the server restarts. It is not part of your account record and is not recoverable.
We do not retain your account data for any other purpose after deletion, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Guest Accounts
If you played as a guest without creating an account, there is nothing to sign in to and no request to make. Inactive guest profiles are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Before You Delete
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through a platform store. If you have an active ad-free subscription, cancel it in your store account as well, or it will continue to renew. Deletion does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid, except where required by law or the store's policy.
Deleting your Spellrun account does not delete your Google or Discord account. If you signed in with one of those, you can also revoke Spellrun's access from that provider's account settings.
